- When a change is introduced into an organization, it frequently means that, at some point, people need to learn something new. A common approach to defining what is to be learned is to identify the knowledge, skills, and attitudes required from the learners. For example, new knowledge to apply to their job could be knowledge of new regulations; new skills might be the ability to use a software package; and attitudes towards their work, like learning to trust a system that has previously not been trusted. As a project manager, your job is to work with the change manager to create the learning plan based on your knowledge of the products being delivered and the schedule for delivery. Now, remember that people learn in different ways, so helping to plan the learning needs is not as simple as just showing people how things work.
