- When someone smells bad, or something is stuck in their teeth, or they're having a wardrobe malfunction, it's painful to watch. And deep down, you know you should say something, but you're not sure what to say without making them feel embarrassed. This cluster of awkward moments related to personal hygiene and appearance happens to everyone. In these moments, you'd want someone to tell you if you smelled bad. So it's your duty to tell someone else. When you have these conversations, it's perfectly acceptable to acknowledge the awkwardness. This shows the other person that you're not trying to make them feel bad, you're seriously just trying to look out for them. Next, it's ideal to have a solution. This depends on the challenge at hand, but offering a mint if they have bad breath or a needle and thread if they've split a seam nips that issue right in the bud.
