- One proactive way to ensure women's voice are being heard is to adopt a strategy called pass the mic. It's just about as straightforward as it sounds. It's about using your privilege and power to share the floor with others whose voices are less heard. If you notice women are being interrupted or left out of conversation, you might ask explicitly for your colleague's input, like this. Claudia and Jane, we haven't heard from you on this. What do you two think? You might even reinforce your colleague's specific perspective or credibility so as to cue others to pay attention too. What do you think, Bridget?
