There's a growing need for kindhearted, compassionate, skilled veterinary technicians, or vet techs, for animal health care. It's a job that has a wide variety of duties and requires a unique combination of personal characteristics and skills. And maybe it's a job that's right for you. A day in the life of a vet tech begins with the morning report, which lays out the day's scheduled surgeries, routine visits, and your assignments. From there, your day will include doing patient assessments. You'll weigh the animal. You'll take the vital signs, the temperature, heart rate, and respiration.
