- Culture eats strategy for breakfast. You may have heard this, but what does it really mean? To me, it's a great reminder that culture is really the foundation for business strategy. Strategy is all about mapping competitive approaches to increase in the customer base, strengthening performance and winning against the competition. So what's culture have to do with it? Well, everything and it has huge impacts on your Agile transition. Let's talk about common, environmental, or cultural constraints you may run into. The most common ones I hear about are management style, acceptance of change, intense process focus, and trust. Starting with management style, what's it like where you work? If your leaders are directive and demanding, your culture is probably one of command and control.
