- According to the Harvard Business Review, teams that include people with different perspectives and thinking styles solve problems faster. Many of us know this but it's easy to get stuck in our routines, so let's look at how you can intentionally develop diverse thinking on your team. First, create a psychologically safe environment where failure is accepted and ideas are celebrated. Make sure your employees feel free to speak up and take risk. When a person fails, don't beat them up. Ask them, what did you learn, and what will you do better next time? When you create psychological safety, your employees will be free to think creatively and they'll likely start sharing more diverse ideas. You'll also want to draw feedback from the entire group during the team meetings. Pinpoint who speaks up and who doesn't. If someone talks a lot, encourage them to ask questions, go out of your way to ask for feedback from someone who likely has something to say but hasn't shared. When those…
