- So now that you've been through the course, it's time to put your new conversational skills into practice, right? Start with the basics. Strike up conversations with customers when they first walk in the store. Find out what problem they're trying to solve and maybe tell them a story about a product they're looking at. Those are the most productive, early conversations you need to master. Now, once you're feeling confident with those, move on to the intermediate conversations. Now, those are the ones where something a little more challenging is happening, like what to say to an angry customer or if the customer says no. Those situations happen a lot, so you'll need to master them soon anyway. And then, when you're ready, move on to the advanced conversations, like upselling or cross-selling.
