- It's been quite a journey together, exploring how to build creative organizations. We examined the essentials of creativity, reflected on what we need as individuals to be creative, and explored the organizational impacts and how to address them. Where we go from here? I recommend the following next steps. First, be aware of the conditions for creativity in your workplace. Are people willing to take risks? Is failure treated as a source of learning? Do people speak the unvarnished truth? Next, do your own work first. Notice your reactivity, and shift into a more creative state to share and listen openly. Leaders go first. The behavior that you model will create the path for others to follow. Then encourage your people to stretch into open communication, feedback and collaboration.
