Never be "that person"

- In business, you never want to be known as that person. Let me give you a few specific examples of that person that you never want to be in a business environment, and especially as a salesperson. Remember, our role is more outward facing than most, and there are just some things to avoid. One example is the know-it-all. Every company has the know-it-all, who, in a department meeting, feels like they have to say something no matter what the subject may be. To make matters worse, they are the self-proclaimed expert on everything, too. Does the word pompous come to mind? A close relative of the know-it-all is the person who constantly compliments the boss when it's really not needed. They'll say, Oh what a wonderful idea that was. Or, I think that decision is exceptional. It comes across as so phony, and you'll see people roll their eyes or groan when the disingenuous comments are made. Along those lines you can add…
