- Now that you have your family buy in and you've got a supportive spouse and you know the timeline that you're going to put in to pursue this business, the next thing you need to consider is your personal credit. Now I know I mentioned earlier that you need to have exceptional credit. Let me tell you what that means. That is a 700 or higher credit score. And if you don't have that, you need to work towards it. And you might need to put some money aside so that you can do it, but you need to make sure you want to get your credit as high as possible because you are your business's credit when you first start out, because it takes many years to establish business credit.
