Multiple PMOs don't work well together

- While PMOs are a business function, they behave differently to most other departments. If you think about sales or marketing, there's usually just one of those areas in a business, or at least one in the division. But with PMOs, there may be many. One for IT, one for product development, another for strategic projects. Or perhaps one focused on best practices, and another looking after governance. And all of those PMOs are set up by different stakeholders, with different goals. There's a lot going on there, right? So it's not surprising that they don't always work well together. The problem is caused by the way PMOs have been implemented.
