Misty Copeland on knowing you aren't alone
- Your voice has really changed over time. And you were a different Misty Copeland than you were 20 years ago. And you were definitely when you started. If you could go back and tell that 13-year-old girl who was in the Boys and Girls Club, something to do, is there anything that you would, what kind of advice would you give her about what to do or how to act, how to think, if you could go back and be your own mentor, what would you say? - Wow, I would say that it's okay to be you. It's okay to be nervous. It's okay to be, to have anxieties, but to not let it consume you, that most people, most of your peers are going through something similar. And that you're not in this alone. I think that was just a lot of my fears and things that kind of held me back as a child was just feeling that I was the only one experiencing the things I was experiencing. So I would just say to be patient and calm and just know that things are going to work out. (soft music)
