- [Narrator] Encouraging innovation. Do you have more or less creativity than you did when you were a child? Most children become less creative as they become older and more educated. That's one reason people respond with trepidation when leaders ask them to be more creative. As you supervise people, learn to distinguish between their creativity and their innovation. You can't measure creativity, and much of its quality and vigor depends on the person engaging in the activity. By contrast, people can innovate in line with their regular work.
