Mindfulness + compassion = moving from me to we

- Compassion starts with us, our own development. And this is mindfulness or awareness. We also start with compassion for ourselves. And when we have compassion for ourselves, then we have a chance of being compassionate with other people. So with ourselves, we start by being present. We learn to be a spectator of our own thoughts, and we build awareness of what's going on inside with our internal landscape. And then once we're aware of what's going on with ourselves, we can take responsibility for our own lives. We can take action. And part of that is having a mindset of personal growth, to be curious, to be always developing, always learning, taking each setback as an opportunity for more growth. We can practice gratitude and joy. Gratitude is like a superpower. It opens the aperture of our life. It increases possibility. And with all of this, with this change in mindset, comes resilience.
