(high-pitched bell rings) - [Instructor] This is the meditation of spacious consciousness. To begin with, sit quietly and quite comfortably in your body. For this practice, it helps to be still and relaxed, and do the best of your ability to sit without moving. Rest yourself at ease just where you are. Let your eyes close gently for this time. And in this meditation, you will not focus on breath, or body, or the other forms of awareness that you may be using. Instead, bring your attention entirely to the play of sound. Hear these words and the space between the words. Let yourself hear the sound of silence after the words stop. Notice, as well, the play of sounds wherever you are, the soft sounds in the place that you sit, the distance sounds, and any sounds that come and go. Relax into this listening and sense, as you listen, the consciousness which hears all these sounds. This is your own mind, pure…
