- [Instructor] Well, we've reached the middle, appropriately called the Midpoint. This is the middle of our novel roadmap, the middle of the beat sheet, and the middle of your story. It is arguably one of the most important beats of the Save The Cat beat sheet and your novel. So much important stuff happens in this single scene beat that occurs 50% of the way through your novel. The Midpoint is a structural crossroads and more important, a culmination of whatever was happening in the Fun & Games. Allow me to explain. Remember in the Fun & Games, I asked you if your hero generally struggled in their new act two world, also called a downward Fun & Games, or generally succeeded in the act two world, also called an upward path Fun & Games. The answer to that question is going to inform and influence how you build the Midpoint of the story.
