- In one of my previous jobs, I started out with great optimism. The interviews were fantastic, including the interview with my future team, but I missed something. The fact that there were no other people of color in that interview. After some time on the job, the biases within the company became more and more apparent. And speaking with other employees of color, I discovered this was actually an ongoing pattern. As I now know, if I use my team interview more wisely, I could have found out far more about the company culture. At some companies, having you meet the team is a common thing practice as the last stage of the interview process. In other cases, the company may not offer, but you can ask for an interview with your future team.
