Meet Tiffaine Stephens: Can we talk?
- Tiffaine was a rising star at a global organization. She had checked all the boxes and had mentors, sponsors at a high level. She put herself out there for leadership opportunities in her employee resource group. She was always thinking about how she could push herself or challenge herself to contribute more to her organization. But then came the summer of 2016 where as a black female millennial living and working in the Midwest, things were becoming really heavy for her, and she felt like it was really hard to go into work with a mask on and pretend like everything was fine. And she happened to come in to the office one day for one of those coffee meetings with a sponsor, who happened to also be the Chief Marketing Officer of her company, and she couldn't hide the fact that she was really frustrated, that she felt that she wasn't able to express her true self at work because there were some heavy things going on…
