I previously looked at how different audiences appreciate different kinds of information and how you can appeal to them by varying what you emphasize. Now I'd like to look at two other aspects of the written word that subconsciously affect how your message is received. Format and style. The first question of format to answer is will this case study appear in print, online, in some other form such as video, or in a combination of these? Some of these formats have special needs that you have to consider right from the beginning of the production process. If it's video, you'll to capture the interview on camera and collect secondary footage, what the industry calls B-roll.
