Managing benefits realization for change projects

- Before a business starts making changes, they must justify the need. We don't want to invest the time and money unless there will be measurable improvements. These improvements are called outcomes and we'll measure the success of these outcomes as benefits. For example, a new process has noticeably increased productivity, and when measured, it shows we are 15% more productive than before the process was changed. As the business manager, it's our job to make sure the organization benefits from change. Managers should be engaged from the outset to make sure the organization understands the improvements needed and the impact this change will have on business as usual. Only a manager who works in the business area can provide a clear picture of this.
