Making collaboration a habit

- There's no doubt that your organization will benefit from you becoming a skilled collaborative leader, but stop for a moment and think about how developing the habit of collaboration will benefit you personally. Maybe you're looking to position yourself for a promotion. Or maybe you just want to make your team meetings more interactive and fun. It doesn't matter what your reason is as long as it's valid for you. Once you've identified a personal motivation, you're ready to begin the three-step process. One, focus on the end result. What is the specific collaborative habit you'd like to create? Write it down and put your focus directly on the end result. Two, create a trigger. A trigger is something that leads you to automatically do something else. For example, if your goal is to display more inclusive body language, you could use entering the meeting room as a trigger for that new habit, like this.
