- One of the great features on the User Management page is the ability to make quick edits. There are four quick edit options available for making changes to each individuals account. I'm going to scroll down to the bottom of my main user list and here on the far right are the Quick Edit options. If you hover your mouse over this area you'll see all four different options appear. For an unregistered User who is identified by seeing the word Never in the Last Login column here, I have the Quick Edit options to Add to a Group, Edit a User, Resend the Welcome Email, or Assign Playlist.
This will look different for a registered User. Once a User registers their Lynda.com account the word Never will be replaced with a date in the Last Login column, indicating when that User last logged in to their account. When a User is registered the Resend Welcome Email Quick Edit option will be replaced with a Send Custom Email option, so an admin can quickly email that User directly from the User Management page. For an unregistered User this Quick Edit option offers an easy way to Resend the Welcome Email to that User to help remind them to register their account.
Clicking on this will bring up a window asking if you want to confirm resending the welcome email to that User. By confirming, an email will be sent to that individual welcoming to their Lynda.com account and it will provide information on how to set up their user name and profile. The first Quick Edit option is Add to Group, which offers the option to quickly add or remove an individual from assigned Groups. So, clicking on this will give a dropdown menu of all the Groups you have, and checking or unchecking these will assign, or reassign, or unassign the User from those Groups.
Click Save to confirm changes. The second Quick Edit option is to Edit the User profile. Clicking on this will pop up that User's profile. Here you can change the First or Last Name, or if the User has not yet registered their Email you can change their Email here, but once the User has registered their Email you can no longer change their Email or unique ID since it's now their personal identifier. If a Playlist has been assigned to a User and not to an entire Group, you can see that indicated by a single person icon here.
And you can unassign a Playlist by clicking on the X to the far right. You can also change a User's Group and Profile attributes here. When you're done making changes click Save to confirm. And finally, the last Quick Edit option is to Assign Playlist. If you have Playlists created, clicking this will dropdown the list of your Playlists, and you can select one of them to Assign that Playlist to that User.
Click Assign to confirm. And those are all of our Quick Edit options, some really easy ways to make those quick changes to an individual User's account.
