- So here are some important thoughts about the detail of what goes into your CV. And the first one is features and benefits. This is a sales idea, for example I don't care if my electric drill has 16 volts, that's a feature, if that feature means I can drill faster through walls, that's what I want, that's the benefit I want. Or if my television is 100 hertz or something, that's a feature, I don't care. But if it means it doesn't flicker, or it's brighter, that's the benefit I want. It's exactly the same when you're selling yourself. Features are irrelevant, it's benefits that we want. So if you've got a feature that you have had 10 years of experience or something, that's just a feature, but what's the benefit to the employer?
