- When I was in college, I sought out extra curricular activities that allowed me to have a diversified resume and highlighted my leadership experience. I joined a business fraternity, became a business school ambassador, and participated in the honors program. But when it came time to apply for jobs, I couldn't see how these college activities had anything to do with the marketing jobs I was applying to. Had all of those activities over the last four years been a waste of time? Definitely not. It was in fact, the absolute best use of my time. Everything I did and everything you did in college has skills that are transferable to a full time job. You just need to translate the experience so it relates to the job you're applying to.
