Lean Six Sigma: Measure phase overview
- Now that the define phase has been completed, the next phase of your project is the measure phase. If you have not completed the two prerequisite courses, six sigma foundations and operational excellence foundations or if you would like a refresher, please view the measure phase chapters in both of those courses. In this video I would like to provide you an overview of your role in the measure phase, the steps and tools involved. And I will conclude the list of key deliverables. The main focus of the measure phase is to measure the Y in Y equals F of X. Steps in the measure phase are confirm the Y in Y equals F of X by reviewing all outputs from the define phase. Describe and map the current as is process. Start with a high level process map then decompose the process as needed using detailed process maps or swim lane deployment maps. In addition to the project team, process owners and other key process stakeholders should be invited to participate in the mapping exercise. If you're…
