- If you're like me, you have a hybrid team. Some of the people work nearby and others are at a distance. And if that's true, but you're juggling every day. And the challenge for us here is how do we balance the needs of the folks who are near with the folks who aren't? Let's spend some time talking about that, first, know your tendencies as a leader, do you tend to focus more on the folks who are out or the folks who are down the hall? Second, be flexible, and the more dispersed your team is, the more important this one is, be flexible on meeting times, if you've got different time zones, make sure that you're meeting the needs of everybody and flexing for everybody as appropriate. Third, be equitable. Recently, I had part of my team with me at a conference, and while we were together, I thought, why don't we go take in a baseball game, which we did.
