We all have experienced that feeling of putting out that metaphorical blaze to then just have another fire pop up out of the blue. While these times seem to be random, I think that most can be avoided with preplanning for crisis. These little or sometimes large calamities are all part of the risk management process. The reason is that because they take you or your staff away from normal operations, they jeopardize business continuity and damage profit margin. By including leadership development as part of organizational risk management, a company will go far in avoiding those pesky fires that derail profitability.
