LeSS is scrum
- The creators of Large-Scale Scrum are quick to point out that LeSS is scrum. So what does this mean? Almost all the enterprise agile frameworks include scrum. It makes sense because scrum is the most widely used of all the agile frameworks. Yet what they're saying here is different. They're saying that LeSS is scrum. What they're really saying here is that scrum is enough to scale agile. Scrum is a very simple and lightweight framework. It only has three roles, five events, and even a fewer number of outputs, or what they call artifacts. One of the core ideas behind LeSS is that you don't need to add additional roles, events, rules, layers, and bureaucracy. You could take this lightweight scrum framework and upsize it for the enterprise. This is much different from how other enterprise agile frameworks deal with scrum.
