Keep yourself honest

- In business, and specifically in sales, your honesty and your integrity are the backbone of your reputation. If you try to deceive a customer with information about a product or service that may not be totally true, you're walking a very fine line. It would be a problem to promise a date for delivery that, deep down, you know just can't be achieved. What about overcharging one customer over another for the same product or service? The matter of your ethics comes into play at each of those examples. Keeping yourself honest goes right to the core of your character, who you are as a person, and how others see you. At many performance evaluations or personal growth assessments, the aspect of ethics and honesty are often reviewed. I'd recommend paying close attention to that feedback to ensure you're being seen as nothing but trustworthy and honest by your manager and peers. A simple approach is one that I will often say…
