- When people start to systematically improve their meetings, they often see quick results. However, it's common for meetings to fall back into bad practices over time, and we need to keep the pressure up to sustain the gains we've made and continue to improve. Some of this is about using tried and tested meeting techniques. For example, reviewing the actions from the previous meeting at the start of the next one. If the decisions you took or the actions you promised were not implemented, then the previous meeting was largely a waste of time. We recommend keeping a record of meeting decisions and actions and whether they were implemented or not. If you review these regularly, you'll be able to identify any problems, such as particular types of issues which are not implemented or individuals who are not delivering.
