It's not just how you say it—it's how you see it

- In the past when somebody's wanted to share emotion in writing, there was only one way they could do it, and it was the one you really never wanted. It was the dreaded all caps. This meant they were mad and, frankly, that they were shouting at you through words. - Ah, the dreaded all caps. Nothing worked better as a boss than sending an employee all capitals with an exclamation mark right there in the subject line. Definitely got their attention. - Now, why would I use all caps when I could tell you that I'm mad, really mad, confused, and even maybe disappointed? Sure, at face value, emojis look like silly little symbols. But I can assure you that Gen Z oftentimes thinks in symbols before we think or communicate in words. - So we now have the emoji generation.
