- Studies have found that nonverbal cues have over four times the impact on first impressions than what you say. So often, it's all about what you don't say. Your body language alone can let others know you're somebody that is worthy of attention and respect. Owning a room is not just about saying the most or the best words. When making a solid connection with an audience, the presence you project through non-verbal body language is actually more powerful than anything else that's happening.
