Introduction to hypothesis testing

- Hypothesis testing is a key practice in the analyze phase of Lean Six Sigma projects. If you need a refresher, check out the video on hypothesis testing in Six Sigma Foundations. In this video we'll reinforce our knowledge of hypothesis testing in a project context. If I'm trying to validate and confirm if diet is a key factor impacting my health, I would like to test the theory that diet makes a significant difference, otherwise why bother. Similarly with Lean Six Sigma projects selected likely theories are tested to determine which x factors have a significant impact on the performance of y. For example maybe we want to know are processing times different across locations. Does variation in processing times differ across groups? Or does the proportion of defects differ across groups?
