- This is an audio course. No need to watch, just listen. (bell dings) (calming music) - Sounds True presents guided meditation. Essential practices to cultivate love, awareness, and wisdom. With the co-founder of the Insight Meditation Society and the Spirit Rock Meditation Center, Jack Kornfield. - This is the practice of mind like sky. In this practice, you will discover a way to open your mind and heart. It brings a spacious and wise perspective. This practice is particularly helpful in circumstances where there are sounds around. Instead of sensing the sounds as an obstacle, you can use this practice to allow the play of sound itself to lead you to a natural and open freedom, which is your own mind. I know of one teacher who brings her students into the city to listen to the noises of the city, the cars and people passing by, the sirens and sounds, to let them all be heard as part of the play of life, with the great mind of a Buddha. This practice is also helpful if you are having any difficulty paying attention to your breath or body. It is a way of bringing awareness that is inviting and easy, and opening. It is a way of bringing awareness, beyond the breath and body, and back to our true nature. This practice is a direct pointing to the nature of mind. What my teachers called the original mind. That pure space of awareness that is consciousness itself. It is a wonderful practice to develop, to rest in, and to allow to inform your life as you move through your days.
