- As Jim Collins said in his book, "Good to Great," start by getting the right people on the bus, the wrong people off the bus, and the right people in the right seats. If you don't have a strong talent base, and to me, that means a diverse one, the other things really don't matter. Like you can't increase inclusion or reduce turnover among your diverse talent if you don't have any diversity to start with. Here are a few ideas to improve recruitment and selection to help you hire a more diverse workforce. First, emphasize the value of diversity in your job materials. Make sure that your job materials reflect the organization that you want to be and ensure the language you use doesn't discourage certain groups from applying. Second, look to younger generations.
