- Most of the conflict I've seen in sales and marketing starts at the top. Marketing and sales leaders have to get on the same page and often, a great place to start is with their numbers. But not all numbers are created equal. At DigitalMarketer, we have identified five shared metrics our sales and marketing leaders look at daily. Number one: lead volume. While the definition of a lead will vary from business to business, the importance of being in-tune with the volume is a crucial metric for sales and marketing leadership.
