- I know, this course is supposedly about writing, and maybe you've been surprised to find that you only spend a small part of your time in the act of putting words to paper. Now that we've written that main text, perhaps you think that part is over. But actually, some of the most important writing hasn't even been done yet. To understand why, let's look at the case study template our marketing department designed and take stock of some of the other pieces we need, starting with the text elements. On the front there's a headline and subhead, a pull quote, an info box, and the call to action. On the back there's a short headline, another pull quote, and at the bottom a call to action and any required text. I know there are also graphical elements needed but we'll come back to those. I like to create the first draft in a text document rather than in the graphical template.
