(upbeat music) - Everywhere we go people are talking about diversity and inclusion. And one of the hardest things to figure out is what do we even mean by inclusion? And what are the most important practices for us to learn? Hi, I'm Dereca Blackmon and I'm CEO of Inclusion Design Group. I use she and they pronouns. And I like to let you know what my gender pronouns are because you can't tell what they are by looking at me. Over the past five years I've trained more than 30,000 people on key concepts of diversity and inclusion. Building on my work at Stanford University and my countless sessions with corporations throughout the globe, I've concluded that inclusion is not just a field of practice. It's a mindset. And in our time together, you'll learn about inclusive mindset, a research based framework, to help you evaluate what is most important in the quest for diversity, inclusion, belonging, and equity. I'll take you through definitions, research, and best practices. These will help you implement changes in your organization and in your own thinking. You'll become more effective in creating the kind of changes that make our organizations and our world into places where all people feel included, respected, and treated as equals.
