- The Gallup Poll research shows that engagement is increasing. They still found that as of 2019, only 35% of the US workers are engaged and 13% are actively disengaged. One of the primary things you as leaders, supervisors, and managers need to focus on is how you can engage employees in the workplace. Effectively listening is one of the key tools you can use to engage your employees. In this lesson, I want to go over the three steps you can take to let your employees know that you are listening. The first step is to reach out to your employees. Get out on the floor, spend time in the office, go where your employees do their work, and then talk to them about their work. Ask them questions, get their opinions on decisions that are coming and make sure to pay attention to what they say. Make them feel listened to.
