If I’m applying through someone I know, do I need a cover letter?
(rock music) (phone ringing) - Hello, yes? Oh yes, but I'm on a banana phone. Do you like banana phones? Oh you like cover letters, yeah, let's do this. Okay, all right that sounds great. You're applying through someone that you know, do you still need a cover letter? You might not need a cover letter, especially if you know that person pretty well. But you may want to give them a cheat sheet if they're going to say share your resume with the hiring manager. You can outline why you think you're a great fit for that job, and what you could offer if they hired you. This will give your contact some good talking points, or help them with the phrasing if they're introducing you through email. (rock music) Ba na na.
