- The unfolding changes in the world can often seem overwhelming and out of our control, but when we look at them through the lens of a futurist we can start to identify some critical levers to invest in to shape a more positive future. In 2017 the MacArthur Foundation announced a historic grant to do just that. Named 100&Change, they sponsored a philanthropic competition to fund a single proposal that promises real and measurable progress in solving a critical problem of our time, and the recipients, two unlikely partners, the International Relief Committee and Sesame Street who joined forces to shape a better future for millions of children displaced by the conflict in the Middle East. These refugee children receive less than 2% of the humanitarian aid globally, and are likely to stay refugees for their entire childhood.
