Identifying the curb appeal of your home and surrounding homes

- [Instructor] So when we look at the exterior section of our repair estimator, you'll notice the check boxes on the repair estimate sheet. These are areas of the house or of the subject property that are not visibly verifiable and really that you need to get a specialist involved in looking at these. These are areas that we're not necessarily the duty expert in, things like asbestos or buried oil tanks or even mold remediation. Now when it comes to curb appeal, this is where we're going to leverage our neighborhood. How does the neighborhood look and how does your subject house look in comparison to the neighborhood? Walk around the home. Make sure you walk around the exterior and really get an idea or a feel for the flow of the property, the property lines and notice is there any unusual elements to the house that stick out from the neighborhood. Something that just isn't normal or isn't the same, that doesn't fit with the neighborhood, stuff like maybe a random or strange door placement or an unusual garage or carport, or maybe it's just the lack of any features at all. We want to take this all into consideration when we're looking at the curb appeal of the house and again, really seeing how it fits in comparison to the neighborhood.
