- Not all time is created equal. Well, technically it is. But what I mean is that to make the most of your time, you need to be spending it in the right place. So you need to know what the right place is for you. Sounds simple but it does take a little bit of work. But don't worry, I'll walk you through the system I used in my book, "Listful Living: A List-Making Journey to a Less Stressed You." There are four steps to identifying your priority. Yep, I said priority, singular. That's because at any one given time, you can only really focus on one thing. Okay, number one, make a list of your top priorities in life. This list can include things like sleep, money, nutrition, work, meditation, family, and so on. Number two, put the priorities in value order from one to 10, with one being the most important, and 10 the least important. Number three, what is your number one priority?
