- It's a simple, but profound truth. You can't achieve your goals if you don't know what they are. The starting point for any discussion about goal setting is understanding what's most important to you. Maybe you know instinctively that it's spending time with your family or rising the senior ranks of your company or living a life of adventure. Those are great sentiments.
