- Many supply chain professionals spend their days making predictions about the future. And the Institute of Business Forecasting has a certification program just for them. The IBF program has three steps, and along the way you need to pass five exams along with meeting their education and experience requirements. The first step is to become a CPFC. A certified professional forecaster candidate. The second step is to move from being a candidate to being a full fledged CPF. You do that by showing you have the minimum education and experience, and by passing three exams. One about demand planning, forecasting and S&OP, a second about data management and time series forecasting and a third exam about reporting, presenting and new product forecasting.
