- It's the human condition, we make excuses. We all get derailed sometimes, but the most successful people are able to spot their excuses early and get back on track. If an objection or an issue arises, it's important to always ask ourselves, is it a reason, an obstacle you can monitor and overcome in the future, or an excuse, a story that you're telling yourself? Let's talk about how to determine the difference. And if you have the exercise worksheet, feel free to download it and follow along. First, if you're trying to accomplish something and there are barriers you're facing or voices that keep popping up in your head, you can often start to defang them by writing things down. You can literally pause this and do it now if you'd like. Write down all the reasons you're having difficulties or suspect you will have difficulties.
