How to inspire your team
- The human brain is a processor and if you want great output, you need to have great input. In the field of creativity, we term any piece of input that leads to an idea, the inspiration. So I'm going to explain how to give your team more inspiring input. This is something you should include as part of your process. Some of my clients now run monthly inspiration sessions to keep everyone's brains topped up with valuable input. This is what I tell them to cover in those sessions. Show good things from your industry. Showcase some of the cool things that your competitors are doing. Look for the stuff that makes you go damn, I wish I'd thought of that. After you've shown in, open up for discussion. Ask why it's so good, what could be improved and why you didn't do it first. Most importantly, ask the team what they can learn from it.
