- Want to know how I landed my first five-figure speaking engagement? I reached out and asked them to book me as a speaker. Two years later, I hit their stage. We first need to swallow our pride and get out of our heads that outreach is bad because if you truly believe that your speech can change lives, then you'd be doing a disservice by not sharing it. If you believe in your product, even if your product is you, then you shouldn't be afraid to sell it. So take some time to look at your network and start there. Who do I know that books speakers? What associations am I a part of or have connections to, like chambers or industry associations? What conferences or events have I attended that have had speakers? What speakers do I know, and where have they spoken? Will they introduce me?
