- If you want to end up with a strong, focused, powerful idea, it's best to have a single decision maker. They'll provide a unified vision and make the project run far more smoothly. Sadly, it's not the way projects are run in most companies. More often than not, end up with multiple stakeholders with different agendas and different priorities. That's a lot like an orchestra with multiple conductors. The musicians don't know who to pay attention to, so they look at the person who's flapping their arms most wildly at any given moment and the end result isn't something that pleases anyone. And maybe that's how free-form jazz was invented. So how can we deal with multiple stakeholders with contrasting agendas? I tend to do it by managing them.
