How not to get depleted using empathy
- Do you find the idea of connecting with people emotionally at work stressful? Do you imagine being exhausted by the idea of tuning into what direct reports or teammates are going through? Are you an empath, someone who is highly intuitive and sensitive to other's emotions and even physical symptoms? If you don't find it easy to deal with your or other's emotions, here are recommendations to handle key situations. First, if you find emotional connection draining, you can act with empathy without necessarily having to tap into someone's whole emotional experience.
